She checks her meter before going to bed each night to verify that it's at the expected 4 green bars. One night recently, it was well into the red. It turns out she'd left the oven on and, without the Ewgeco, almost certainly wouldn't have spotted until at least the next morning.

@Polly: They are commercially available directly from Ewgeco now, though they only have a small number of units right now as far as I'm aware. I hope they'll be more widely available very soon!

Polly Purvis comments on My Ewgeco

Ok so where can I get one ? It was alarming, and I didn't want to go out the house till I'd found out what was using 1.5KW. We found that the "backup" electric water heater in out Megoflow tank had be turned on when something fell from the cupboard onto the switch. Our little meter saved us some money, that would otherwise may have gone unnoticed. We now also have replaced most of our pretty halogens with nice cold cathode replacements, 7W instead of 50W, it makes sense.

We have a smart meter, and a home meter. Smart meter by first-utility and meter from OWL. Although the later we'd like to replace with efergy Elite or E2 or better.

I have to say I like the one you have also, but it looks like it justs costs too much for me.

Douglas F Shearer comments on My Ewgeco

Ever so slightly jealous, even more so when you get gas monitoring hooked up, will be interested to hear how that goes. Been using a MK1 CurrentCost meter for about a year now, definitely good to see when and how much energy you're using. Unfortunately getting data (live only) out involves a USB-Serial cable and mucking about with telnet and baud rates.

Your My Ewgeco link in the first line has a typo /c/om/com.

Grandma Margaret comments on My Ewgeco

I want one now! I didn't really realize how twitter can help or promote a business, being only a consumer. But then I came across this blog, which enticed me to follow the owner on twitter, and from there I became aware of his company which sells self defense gadgets. I became interested, the only problem is geographical differences because he won't be able to ship his products in our country.

Jennifer comments on Bride of Frankenstein

I had the same surgery done. Although things are improving, I'm still really numb. How long did it take for the numbness to go away. It looks like I've had a mini stroke, although my doc said there was no damage to the nerves, but it could take as long as 8 mths to go back to norm.

ajit singh comments on Google Analytics Plugin

Can I add a read-only user to my analytics profile via RoR?

Regards

Ajit

confused mum comments on Nintendo DS Lite

a really daft question i know but my son has lost his ds and i'm trying to get him a new one have seen some great deals on ds lites but want to know before buying can you play ds games on them help please!!!!!!!!!!
